The Order of Ermine

Weight: 500 g

This chain is our attempt to reenact the collar of the Order of Ermine (LOrdre de lHermine). It was a chivalric order found in 1381 by Jean IV, the Duke of Brittany, after the battle of Auray. Its motto was «A ma vie, comme jay dit». Unlike other medieval orders, this one accepted women and people of non-noble origin as a merit for special services to Brittany. The order was almost forgotten after Anne's of Brittany grandson Francis III was brought to the French court and rejected his Brittany origin. The order was transformed later, its design and rules were changed, and there is not much pictures of the early designs, but we tried our best to do it authentic.
